Sunrise solstice celebration. It poured rain at 4:00 but stopped by 5:00.

Good thing I planned ahead and had covered the firewood with a tarp.

No visual sun rise due to the overcast sky, but the fire represented nicely.

I'm so in love with these colors. I must paint them! I was especially obsessed with how the ashes of this cedar were a beautiful blue-gray.

The nicest post I've found today. Have a great summer!
So cool! I wish I could have joined you guys :)
Happy Solstice to you too!
I made (am finishing off today) a 'Solstice' vibrational/flower essence to capture the energy of this Solstice:)
I can't wait to use it!

Happy summer, Kathleen! Great photos! Love the one of you and your friend laughing.
What a fun time. Looking forward to seeing some cool ash blue/fiery red/orange paintings! :-)
(my word verification is "praise")
Good for you for staying up and watching the dawn rise! I so wanted to but ended up giving in and going to bed as my eyes were needing matchsticks! :)

well tha's certainly a celebration, hope you got some sleep soon afterwards!
Hi Kathleen,
I don't know what Summer Solstice is but it looks like you enjoyed it! Mom says Sunday was the longest day of the year, that I do understand.
Wags & wiggles,
Bijou
What a wonderful celebration, Kathleen!
I agree with you about the fire's colors. The grays in the ash/logs and the glowing reds would make an amazing painting!
