New horse painting: Isis and Cerus

Isis and Cerus, 30 x 24" oil on canvas
© 2011 Kathleen Coy

I had so much fun painting these two beautiful horses. This pair is a mother and son, and the painting was commissioned by a new collector as a gift to his wife. I was told she cried for five minutes after opening it. I love hearing stories like that, it means a great deal to know that my work makes people happy.

This painting is fairly large, so I've included a few close up shots to show the detail and texture:

And if you'd like to see how the painting came to be, I've made a time lapse video of the progress. I hope you enjoy it!

Much love,

This is outstanding and right up my street. What beautiful subjects and i can see why she cried what a lucky owner. It's always great to read your posts. Hope you and yours are well? Happy New Year to you. Blessings
