More work on Pede's portrait

Here's an update of the progress of Pede's portrait. This was where we left off - with the underpainting complete and awaiting subsequent layers of paint:

Now comes the part where I refine and add detail.
Here, I'm building up the background, adding depth and richness:

Refining the right (her left) ear and eye:

Now working on the left (her right) ear and facial fur:

Refining the eyes, the most important part of a portrait:

The painting as it stands now. I just love those sweet and soulful eyes. The portrait is NOT finished yet, but is nearing the home stretch. As always, if you're interested in having me paint a portrait of your pet, you can contact me through the email in my profile.

Much love,

I love seeing the process, and having seen photos of the real Pede, I'd say you've captured her perfectly and beautifully!

Your painting wants me to get back to painting from my photos. What you do is very painstaking.

I love Pede's expression. She must be a very special dog, you can definitely read emotions in her eyes...

Been MIA for a while -- what a pleasant surprise to find this post. Expression and love already exuding. . . phenom!

Kathleen!

You are quite the expert at what you do!

Love the close-up shot.

Your painting style is very "masculine". By that I mean it's not all soft and flowery. This is a good thing!

If this is the "almost done" stage I can't wait to see the final results!
