Since she is a hot little firecracker, after all...
I had intended to just hand-letter the name in white, but then decided to paint a firecracker next to it on each side. Then I thought the letters would look better in flame colors, and then it needed pinstripes, then the pinstripes turned into lit fuses, heehee...
I must say I have SO much respect for people who hand-letter with paint! NOT my favorite thing to do, I'd much rather paint pictures, thank you very much. :-)
Now I turn the project over to hubby, for varnishing, motorizing, and 'remote controlling.'
If you missed the post about hubbys RC boat, and my step by step photos of the pinup painting, or you just want to see it again, you can find it here.
Wow... it looks sensational!!!
ReplyDeleteGREAT JOB Kathleen!! Perfect idea about the extended line, color and sparks. I love it! I bet it will create a great sensation when it launches. Bring a bottle of champagne for the launch, (but just drink it, don't hit that boat!)
ReplyDeleteWow, what a work of art. I love the firecrackers...perfect addition! Is this actually going in water???
ReplyDeletePerfect!! Bet you needed a steady hand for that lettering! What a great job!
ReplyDeleteit looks great kathleen xx
ReplyDeleteWhat fun you've had...bet you can't wait to see it in action. Your lettering looks great, agree that it isn't fun but you've made it look like you had fun doing it.
ReplyDeleteMy DH is into trains...used to fly RC planes and spent the better part of his weekend longingly gazing at them on the internet.
Thanks all! :-)
ReplyDeleteMona, no champange is going to hit this boat, and I told hubby if he wrecks it, I would probably cry, lol.
Yes Five, it will see water - it's getting an engine (weedeater I think) and will be remote controlled.
Kimberly, there is an RC airfield that we drive by sometimes...fun to watch, but every time I think how many hundreds of dollars they have to spend if they crash land their toys, lol!
LOL!! It turned out beautifully and I agree with you on the lettering!
ReplyDeleteTo quote Paris Hilton (!), "That's hot!"
ReplyDeleteThank you for your post on my blog hon. It means the world to me!
